When the Eclipse is Over
Quick reminder for my friends with depression: When something you anticipate for a long time finally comes around, it’s normal to feel a “low” once it’s over. Nothing is wrong with you. Your brain just got to experience a serotonin high, and the contrast of going back to normal levels can feel hard.
Quick reminder for my friends with anxiety: When something rare comes around, especially when it doesn’t last very long, it’s normal to feel anxious and question if you did everything you could to get the most out of the experience. Nothing is wrong with you. You did the best you could to experience the event in the way that was available to you at that time. No matter what anybody else experienced, your experience was still valid.
Quick reminder for my friends with ADHD: Hey, take off those eclipse glasses before you try to drive anywhere.
