Hey, Artie, what do you think about fusion as a metaphor for sex? I feel like, as a form of physical and emotional intimacy, there are a lot of deliberate parallels to sex. But I think treating it as 100%-equivalent-nothing-more-than-G-rated-sex both robs the gem species of one of its most interesting features and also adds a lot of inappropriate subtext where Steven is concerned.
