Attention all digital artists!

alfredopizzaluver151: Krita, an actual FREE digital art program, recently released an Alpha 3.0 version that features tools for creating “hand-drawn animations”. If you’re looking for an art program with more advanced tools than Paint Tool Sai but don’t want to cough up the cash, then Krita is your program. (However donations to support the people …

Hi!!! Can you tell me how you make your fanarts? You use special program or something? :)

1500yearoldspirit: sure thing! I use photoshop, and I draw with Kyle T. Webster’s Megapack brushes  I draw in layers so I do a sketchy layer first then a cleaner line layer (this takes a while but I get it eventually) clean it up/add a thicker outline on a layer above it then color!  I love …

I hope you don’t mind if I ask how you did that 3D-ish red/blue effect on karkat :0! it looks amazing!

ikimaru: ahh sure! 1. take an image 2. duplicate the layer the image is on 3. right click on the duplicated layer select “blending options” in the window that shows up you uncheck one of the RGB boxes 4. give it ok and then move the duplicated layer a few pixels in any direction

As a complete noob to the digital art scene, I’d just like to ask whether you have any tips on colour picking (like for skin tones, under varied/dramatic lighting and such!). I have a ton of other things I want to ask, but I’ll limit myself to one question and then try to google the rest, haha/ Thanks for sharing your art with us! ^^

cranbearly: ahh thank you so much! ♥ welcome to the digial art scene friend, i hope you enjoy your stay and ctrl + z now onto your question! (if you don’t know what layer and layer modes are and how they generally work you should probably google that before you continue reading) we all perceive …

I love to draw too but I’m not good when it comes to digitally coloring in my pics. Your’s are so fab, I was wondering how your coloring process is? P.S. Your art inspires me every time I see it! :3

laser-lance: I’m not sure if I could explain it well in English, but I will try. ^^’’ Here’s two of different ways I used to color my works. They are basically the same though. By the way, I use Adobe Photoshop CS3~ I use exactly the same color on both pictures, but the left one …

How do you choose your colours? They have a certain something to them and I can’t figure out what it is :o

mimiblargh: idk man, i like mixing colors using layer opacity, and using the color selector like for color opacity, i just pick some base colors, and use another one with a lower opacity over them. like (pls never NEVER USE THESE COLORS oh god this is just an exemple) these are better then i make …
